Due to
this, ultrasonic sensors are being employed for level monitoring of
granulates, pastes or liquids increasingly. However, many of these
media involve liquids or generate vapors that can have a damaging
effect on material in the long term and consequently risk the functional
reliability of standard sensors.
Therefore, special
attention has been paid to these application aspects when designing
the new UNAR family of ultrasonic sensors. The M18x1 sensor housing
is made of 1.4435 stainless steel, while the front of the transducer
is protected by a chemically resistant parylene coating. This coating
creates an excellent barrier effect against inorganic acids, alkalis
and organic solvents as well as water vapor, which results in a substantial
improvement of process security.
All sensors
in the UNAR line feature the proved Teach-in function with which a
scanning range up to a maximum of 1000 mm Sde can be programmed.
This operation
can be started either directly on the sensor via a push button or
externally using a Teach-in input. Accessories include a 4-character,
7-segment display in the chromium-steel housing with a 4 to 20 mA
input which can be directly activated by the output signal from a
current analog sensor.
